Another procedure that we use to cover ankle or heel wounds, after failure of conservative care. This consists of isolating a vascularized graft and transferring it to a prepared wound bed. Works much better than a free graft which is devoid of a blood supply. We've had a lot of success in our diabetic and decubitus patients.
